Description

MUST HAVE:

-1+ years of medical reception experience

-EMR knowledge

-ability to start the first week of October

Responsibilities:
Check patients in and out - due to COVID 92% of their visits are telehealth. They only see about 10 patients per day physically but they will check in everyone for the telehealth visits (same process)
Answering and routing telephones calls - they get 5,000 calls per month. Last she checked, they were getting 116 calls per hour which is extremely HIGH VOLUME. These calls are either looking to schedule appointments or questions on prescriptions. Most of the job will be via the phone
Must obtain accurate patient information, insurance information, and understand that the patient's financial and demographic information is required for billing.
Must scan insurance cards into system and any other document that may be needed.
Communicate the financial policy to the patient.
Process new patient referrals
Pull the no show report daily
Collect co-pays.
Insure new patient records are obtained prior to appointment.
They utilize Allscripts as their EMR and IDX for scheduling
Pull records and prepare out folders file for office visits.
Schedule new and follow-up appointments.
Maintain waiting room order at end of morning and afternoon patients.
Report any problems concerning patients to office manager.
Must be friendly, professional and helpful.
Performs other duties as assigned, according to the individual departmental needs.
*This person will be cross-trained in both check in and check out but their main job will be check in
