SUMMARY:

The Business Development Specialist attracts and retains new and existing business clients to generate new business for the

organization. Serves as the first-line customer contact. Develops marketing materials to solicit business. Assists in the preparation and

delivery of business presentations and proposals. Generates client satisfaction surveys and compiles and analyzes results. Participates

in the development of departmental strategic plans and budget.

The individual in this role is accountable for working collaboratively with LGH executives to ensure that strategic priorities and

growth initiatives are developed and effectively implemented, monitor and measure results, and develop with the system

communication department targeted strategic and tactical marketing collateral materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Identify appropriate opportunities for expansion and retention of LGH’s corporate wellness and telehealth services

 Effectively solve business and industry needs by working with external partners, including significant healthcare insurance

payers and Acadiana Healthcare Alliance network providers and internal stakeholders

 Develop and deliver accurate, well-structured written documents and presentations to facilitate communications with

business prospects

 Work closely with leadership on programs related to wellness, population health, and care coordination with external

customers ie.,

 Maintain communication with all stakeholders

 Track details of the project and project status using formal processes and tools

 Act as a single point of contact for business opportunities with external customers

 Support the development of an effective communications plan for project announcements

 Secure all data associated with projects and provide continuing support after project announcement that assures successful

business commissioning

 Serve as project contract monitor over the life of certain incentive agreements when assigned this responsibility

 Uses video-conferencing technologies, telehealth technology, and scheduling software to provide demonstrations for

prospective clients

 Implements solutions, trains/supports potential clients and team members, and provides technical assistance as part of

business relationship development

 Performs duties with professionalism, exhibits outstanding customer service, and operates with sensitivity to the diverse

landscape of healthcare at all times

 Performs other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

 Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or related discipline or equivalent experience is required.

 Three to five years of experience in a health care setting preferred. Computer literacy required.

 Strong knowledge of business, marketing and finance principles.

 Baseline knowledge of the healthcare landscape and available telehealth and wellness solutions.

 Proficiency in various computer software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal skills

 Ability to decipher and understand data, assess and develop plans to respond to data and develop and implement effective

plans to support growth.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

 Medium Work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor constitutes a maximum lift of 21-50 pounds on occasion and/or a

maximum lift of 11-25 pounds on a frequent basis

 May be required to assist in the turning, lifting, or moving of equipment as well as walking

 Traveling by vehicle to and from various locations ie., employers, schools, law enforcement facilities etc.
